I was watching The Addams Family on Netflix and was inspired to draw a Morticia Addams Petit doll. But, it was getting late and I was tired, so I set it on the back of the couch to finish later. This morning, unbeknownst to me, Hugh climbed on the couch and found my artwork. He decided to add his own touch. I'm so glad I didn't finish the drawing!

Lesson Learned
Never leave your sketchbook out where a 14-month old sweetie can find it. Don't assume the back of the couch is safe. It no longer is!!!

Illustration Friday: Hitched
This week's Illustration Friday prompt is "Hitched." Of course, as a true Southerner I immediately heard someone saying "they're getting hitched" in the back of my head. So, I went with that idea and drew a Petit doll in a wedding dress.
I'll leave you with some recent faves from flickr. Be sure to visit the original image and leave the artist some love!

Petit Doll: Oompa Loompa
It's no secret that we watch a ton of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory around here. No, not the Gene Wilder version. The Tim Burton version. We call it "New Charlie." Hugh is addicted to it.
Since I've watched it about 200 times in the last month, I decided to start a series of Petit dolls inspired by characters and settings of the story.

Here is my Oompa Loompa inspired Petit doll. I was inspired by the Loompa Land, so this is a pre-Willy Wonka Oompa Loompa. She's dressed in leaves and cocoa beans.
